Changelog: 18th Sept 2025

✨ New, Sparkly AI Features

  • Improved AI Agent Setup - the Needle Gauge and Text Detection setup wizards now utilise AI-enhanced image detection models giving users a much smoother, automated agent setup experience in both Assist and LabOps.
  • Experiment Report Generation - once an experiment is complete, visit its overview page and press the "Generate Report" button to access an informative summary report.
  • Moment Title Suggestion - when creating a new Moment within Assist, Lumi will use the details of your configuration and scene to suggest a relevant title for you.
  • Improved visibility of AI features via brighter colours and new animated sparkles icon.

📄 PDF-Based Protocol Generation

  • Users no longer have to copy text from their documents into Lumi for generating Protocols. Now simply upload a PDF and Lumi will read directly from it.
  • There is now also the "Uploaded Protocol Files" card on the Protocol page, allowing users to view any documents used in creating the protocol.

✍️ Help Documentation

  • A number of helpful documents have been made available via our knowledge base, covering support for new users, security information, FAQs and also our changelog (hello!).
  • This is accessible via the user menu or by visiting https://docs.lumi.systems

📱 Ongoing Mobile/Tablet Support

  • Further work has been completed on bringing as much of the Lumi desktop experience as possible to mobile devices, in particular within Moments which have been given a new small-screen-friendly layout on mobile.
  • Across the app, all significant data should now be easily-viewed and presented in a mobile-friendly format, along with a number of small-scale edit functions (e.g. titles and names).
  • Most "Create" functions (e.g. Create Project, Create Experiment etc.) and complex "Edit" functions (e.g. Change Project Members, Edit Protocol Version etc.) have now been actively disabled on mobile devices. Whilst these features may be introduced on mobile in future, for now we encourage users to perform these actions on the desktop web application.
  • Onboarding tours have been disabled on mobile due to differences in functionality between the desktop and mobile experiences. We plan to add mobile-specific tour content in the near future.
